Male Greek citizens aged between 19 and 45 who live outside Greece and want to receive a postponement of conscription can apply for the certificate of permanent resident abroad, by closing digital appointment at myConsulLive to be served by a specialist officer of the Consulate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Conditions for granting

• have been permanently resident outside Greece for the last 11 years in one or more countries, or

• the maximum stay in Greece in each calendar year is 6 months.
• years of study abroad and part-time student status do not count towards 7-year systematic work

The consular post to which you have to apply for a certificate issued by a resident abroad depends on the state where you have your last residence.

Today, the service is provided for the consulates New York, Toronto and London. In stages, other consular authorities will be integrated.
