Parental leave allowance

Working parents can apply for parental leave allowance from the Public Employment Service (PES), provided you have been employed for one year with the same employer.
Once your application has been submitted and the employer has posted the special parental leave form in the ‘ERGANI’ application, the allowance will be paid into your bank account.
Parental leave of 4 months shall be granted continuously or in instalments for both parents with an allowance from the DHPC for the first two months, equal to the minimum wage.

It is specified that:

  • in the case of more than one child, you are entitled to take leave also for them, provided that one year of actual employment with the same employer has elapsed since the end of the leave granted for the previous child.
  • by way of exception, parents of twins, triple or even multiple children shall be entitled to parental leave for each child separately, intermittently or even continuously, without any period of actual service.
  • in the case of adoption or taking charge of a child up to the age of eight, parental leave is granted from the child’s integration into the family.
  • if you have already taken leave under the previous institutional framework and if this leave has not expired on 19 June 2021, the date when the new law entered into force, you are entitled to parental leave allowance.
  • at your request, parental leave may be granted alternatively in the form of reduced daily working hours or days of leave, without prejudice to your entitlement to parental leave allowance.

You will need:

  • or your personal Taxisnet credentials
  • or the codes of the DHPA;

Please note that applications that had already been submitted to DYPA KPA2 during the period prior to the start of operation of the online application do not need to be submitted again electronically.
