Undertakings producing and/or marketing propagating material, research institutes/universities and private individuals may apply for authorisation to import propagating material from third countries for:

• trafficking
• breeding (seed production)
• nursery business needs
• environmental experimentation/regeneration/exhibitions
• own use by Ministry of Rural Development and Food institutions/public research institutes

for the following cultivated plant species:

• crops grown on a large scale
• vegetables
• aromatic pharmaceuticals
• ornamentals
• fruit plants/trees
