Name declaration

The naming is done in combination by both parents. With the approval of the second parent, the declaration is received electronically by the Registrar of the municipality where the birth of the child was declared and initialled.

Once the processing has been completed, your updated civil status certificate will be sent electronically to your counter on gov.gr.

Bumping declaration

It is possible for any parent or sponsor to make an electronic declaration of vetting, following the same procedure. The Registrar registers it in the same way and the citizen is informed accordingly.
