Declaration of immobilisation of a private vehicle (IX)

You can declare your passenger car (private-use passenger vehicle) or two-wheeled private vehicle at standstill without submitting the plates to the Tax Office and benefit from the road tax on your vehicle.

You need to:

  • fill in your personal Taxisnet credentials
  • enclosure and enclosure of the vehicle (owned/leased/licensed)
  • joint owner approval in case of multiple owners

After the declaration of standstill, remove the plates from the vehicle and keep them.

Please note that you can declare your vehicle at standstill even if there are road tax debts in any year.

The co-owners receive a relevant message in the personalised TAXIS information and give their approval or not. After the approvals all owners are informed by a similar relevant message or email.

The following vehicles shall be excluded from electronic declaration of immobilisation:

  • have been stolen or have not been registered and/or their plates
  • circulating abroad
  • their transfer is ongoing
  • have been completely seized or their billboards have been removed by a public authority
  • were granted for recycling to the network of Greek Vehicle Management Alternative Management (EDOE) partners or completely destroyed due to fire/other cause or abandoned by their owners
  • went to auction
  • their owner died
