You can obtain a supplementary protection certificate for a medicinal product designated as a plant protection product, provided that:

protected by a national patent in force

• has a national or Union sales authorisation (first marketing authorisation)
• does not already hold a certificate

You can also submit additional documents in your file.

You should be aware of:

• the number and filing date of the national or EU patent and its expiry date
• the number and date of the authorisation to place the medicinal product on the market;

You need to:

• register and authenticate with the Industrial Property Organisation (OBI)
• pay the fees for each stage of the procedure

The result will be sent to the IED mailbox.
