You can apply for registration and re-registration of babies or infants at the 26 nurseries (NS) of the Public Employment Service (PES) for the school year 2022-2023.

(You are entitled to apply if you are the parent(s) or guardian(s) (surrogate parents, legal guardians, etc.) of beneficiary children who:

• During the years 2021-2022, have completed a total of 25 days of insurance at eEFKA and/or of special maternity protection benefit and/or of regular unemployment subsidy and/or of long-term unemployment subsidy, or
• Have been included in the PES Register of Unemployed Persons for a minimum of 2 months on the application deadline date, or
• are entitled to receive unemployment benefit for self- or independently employed  insured persons  (OAEE, UPIFM, SIFSEP).

You will need your personal Taxisnet credentials.

After the application procedure has been completed, a provisional list of selected babies and infants will be posted. The beneficiaries may submit objections within 3 days.

Privately owned PES NSs operate from 1 September to 31 July, from 6:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday) and are intended to host babies and infants, aged from 6 months to 4 years old. A daily programme of creative activities is being implemented aiming at the children's harmonious psychosomatic and educational development. The selection criteria are financial (priority is given to children with low-income parents) and social (children of large families, orphans, children of single-parent families, children of disabled parents, etc.).

In Attica, there are NSs in the municipalities of Acharnes, Agia Varvara, Ano Liosia, Elefsina, Keratsini, Moschato, Olympic Village and Peristeri, while in the rest of Greece there are NSs in the following cities or towns: Agrinio, Arta, Drama, Igoumenitsa, Ioannina, Kavala, Kalamata, Karditsa, Karpenisi, Komotini, Larissa, Messolongi, Naoussa, Xanthi, Patras, Pylaia Thessaloniki, Serres and Trikala.
